On Friday evening, July 3 while travelling from the Southern Oregon Speedway in White City, Casey Vitale’s trailer caught on fire after a shortage from a winch battery ignited. All equipment in the hauler was burned to the ground including all of Vitale’s cars, engines, parts, tools, and tires. The event is a devastating blow to the team that was planning to run at the Cottage Grove Speedway on Sunday to look for their second Northwest I-5 DIRTcar Series victory, the same series they had been running with that Friday night.

Thankfully Casey and crew were okay but his racing career is temporarily on hold as this event has sidelined him for some time. The team plans to build from ground zero and is asking for any supporters that would like to help them out -- every little bit helps.

Casey talks about the crash....

"At one point dad and I had the fire put out but we ran out of water and fire extinguishers. It was truly the worst thing i have ever seen!

"One thing that I'm thankful for is the fact that my dad and Rikki are both ok! if I would have lost either one of them I wouldnt no what to do.

"I know it will be a long road to recovery but I know we will be there again! I have met some people during this ordeal that I truly think will make us a stronger, faster, better race team!

"And I personally want to thank everyone for the support through these times!

Thanks again,

Casey Vitale
